I have always known about putting Iodine or Bleach or boiling dirty
water to make it safe enough to don't think that will help much
for Seawater , Les Stroud once said something to the
effect, Whatever Nature provides that is bad, Nature also provides a
cure/an antidote/a safe believe that too.

I do believe there is a way for someone whom is stranded way out on the
open Seas to make Seawater safe enough to drink, it just hasen't been
discovered yet.
