Actually, if one were a fair "Wrench", a good used Diesel Genset in the
6-12Kw range can be had for considerably less than $5KUS, and should one
look around for a "Marinized" version with Liquid Cooling and a Jacketed
Exhaust Manifold, extracting the BTU's from the Cooling system and
Exhaust become an easy excersize in Plumbing. I have acouple of Onan
MDJA's (3Kw) that supply the can with nearly all the heating, and
Hot Water required for living in the alaskan bush. Diesel Fuel Gelling
is a matter of Fuel Grade, more than anything else, and if you ask
your distributer for "WinterMix" Diesel for your locale, he can supply
fuel that will not gell on you, in your most extreme tempratures.
