I have problems with the veins in my legs, and have to wear tight
elastic socks. These are *expensive* - roughly $20 per pair. Of course,
I'm careful not to lose them, and don't throw them out unless they've
got damaged or lost their elasticity, which does happen over time. I
*always* buy identical pairs, so if I have to throw out one sock I can
keep the other and use it with a similar odd one from another pair. And
I never wash them in hot water or put them in a hot dryer. That
destroys the elastic fast.
