Norway is a small country , populatiion wise and Hydro electricity
isnt something that can be built anywhere.
Unfortunately, Nuke Plants and Coal and Gas plants can essentially be
built anywhere there is water.
The worlds even increasing demand for electricity simply cant be met
with renewables.
China isnt building 500 Coal plants and 300 Nukes just for fun.
Im unfortunately not very optimistic at all that much will be done to
curb CO2 emmissions now or in the next 10 - 20 years.
Currently in Sydney , Auatralia there is a major meeting of APEC,
where one of the main issues was what to do about Global Warming and
CO2 emmissions.
Not only has there been zero progress in getting any of the major
emmitters to commit to any reductions, you cant even get anyone to
even addess the issues at all, everyone is far more interested in
economic growth powered by cheap electricity than expensive renewable
energy.
Work out what its going to cost to replace 500 1GW coal plants and 300
1GW nuke plants with renewables and you will see the magnitude of the
problem.
And this is just 1 country.
India, Pakistan , Indonesia are following.
