Habshi,
Those barren areas are barren for reasons which would
have been addressed long ago were it practical.
Loooong ago, before political correctness became the fashion,
I had a wonderful old teacher who when confronted with a
statement such as yours would gently correct the mis assumption,
as I have, and the holler SIT DOWN AND PRAY FOR BRAINS!
