I have one of those in my Austin/Western Roadgrader. One side of the
engine is Gas, (Carb, SparkPlugs, Distributer, ect) and the other side
is Diesel. ( Injectors and Injection Pump) IT IS A SWEETHEART to Start
even down in the -10F range. Turn on the Gas, Close the Choke, to 3/4
and hit the Start Switch. Let her warm up for about 3 minutes, and then
flip the Gas/Diesel lever to Diesel, and shut off the Gas. Once the
engine is warmed up on Diesel, you can Restart it on diesel with the
Starter Motor. IH made really good stuff "Back in the Day".
