somebody was trying to find a way to say

"we can get even higher unification temperatures
if we look at higher dimensional models
and the gauge theories they can accomodate"

although it is true that these theories
can have very high unification energies
the papers i have seen also point out
that higher dimensional models can have lower U_GUT
and still fall within experimental bounds
(like proton decay)
