It's totally possible but the cable costs (the cable needs to be ten times
'thicker' than for one installed 100 feet away for the same losses) and the cost
of *protecting* the cable in such an environment may be prohibitive.

Is there really not a suitable site that's nearer ?

What power output are you considering ?
