PV is expensive (today) but I wouldn't call it "extremely".
Even less expensive when you consider that they last many
decades with almost no maintenance and no fuel costs.

You seem to be quite optimistic about vertical axis wind turbines
mounted on a roof while most others suggest this is not going to
work very well. Have you actually done this yourself? What kind
of power output do you get from your turbine(s)?
