BTW The different numbers can also mean:
Method 1:
Only the CO2 from 1 gallon burned
Method 2:
The CO2 emission caused from the drilling,
transport, raffinery, transport to put
1 gallon gasoline in the tank is added

While method 1 can only vary by small chemical differences
between different gasoline brands, method 2 can be much
different.
While at method 1, there is no difference between
light crude oil and oil sands, method 2 can show at
gasoline produced from oil sands double the CO2
