Subject: #028 contacting all the governors of the states where TransCanada is going to lay pipeline; new Book; Protecting Earth Ecosystems and Environment

I am going to try to contact all the governors of the states that
TransCanada plans to lay pipeline and ask them
if they can get an answer out of TransCanada.

My maths show that pressurized piping of tar sand sludge costs 30,000
barrels of oil to produce
400,000 barrels of oil to refine in the USA.

An alternative method is to refine the tar sands up in Canada where
found, and then to railroad haul
400,000 barrels of refined oil into the USA to some storage reservoir.
The USA and Canada already have
extensive rail lines so all that needs building is special rail cars
that can handle that much oil. The
cost of this method is 1,000 barrels of oil to railcar the finished
product of 400,000 barrels of oil.

One method costs 30,000 barrels and ruins vast tracts of precious
farmland. The other method costs
only 1,000 barrels and ruins not one single farm field.

In an era of Global Warming, I find it awful that the USA would ignore
the maths of huge projects and where
we expect all households to do their part in global warming and save
on energy, while we allow
TransCanada and Conoco Phillips to ruin
farmland and pollute 29,000 barrels of oil every day in wasted energy.
