Every type of energy seems to have its particular drawback. All energy
production and use produces a certain amount of polution, most of which is
unacceptable. If we are to maintain the health of our planet, we will have
to look at more drastic solutions than those already being considered.
Since much of our energy is used propel automobiles, trucks, trains,
planes, tractors, ships and the like, hauling millions of people and
billions of tons of goods, maybe it would be prudent to cut back on the
amount of propulsion that is being used.
There are many ways this can be accomplished, by economy in the use of
fuels. By using transport systems that operate economically. By avoiding
the long, wasteful hauls. By localizing economic units. etc. .There are
many more avenues of this of this trend that can be explored.
